Jean Paul Gaultier is a French haute couture fashion designer known for his unconventional and often irreverent style - think Madonna's now infamous cone-shaped bra from her 1990 Blond Ambition Tour.
In addition to being a fashion designer, Jean Paul Gaultier is known for a popular line of perfumes. Gaultier's first foray into the world of fragrance began in 1993 with the release of the famous Jean Paul Gaultier EDP for women, whose name was subsequently changed to Classique. Classique and was followed by Le Male in 1995, and Fragile in 1999. All of them were known for their peculiar packaging and unusual compositions. Limited edition flankers have been released for many of the fragrances, featuring new "fashions" for the bottles.
While Gaultier does not release fragrances with the same regularity as other design houses, the few that he does release are well received.
Jean Paul Gaultier produces fragrances in conjunction with Beaute Prestige International. Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Aurelien Guichard, Jacques Cavallier, Olivier Cresp, Francis Kurkdjian and Annick Menardo.
